One of the best parts of my job is talking with students. I met with the Mitacs interns from the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan for a roundtable discussion about who they are and what their research is on. There were students from China, Brazil, Mexico, Ukraine, and Germany among others in attendance. I enjoyed listening to students' experiences and learning the tremendous value Mitacs programs bring to their education, businesses, and to research and development in Saskatchewan.
Mitacs is a non-governmental organization that funds research partnerships across Canada. Recognizing the value of research and innovation opportunities for Saskatchewan students, our government provides funding to Mitacs each year. In turn, they fund research opportunities for students at U of S and the U of R.
Mitacs programs support our vision to developed a skilled workforce and allow interns to gain valuable experience.
